So, Dan put together our baby swing recently. Go Dan! It is a great swing; its a portable one, so we move it all around our little apartment's living area. Very handy. It does require batteries, but all swings probably do. It took us a little while to get the batteries, so until then we had to remember to push the swing every once in a while. Emily didn't like that as much. She really likes the swing with batteries. She first got to use a swing at her Aunt Mindee's house, and loved it, so we put ours together. Dan also loves our little swing. He puts her in it all the time. Which is fine, except I don't want her to develop the bald patch most babies get, from sitting in swings and lying down on their back all the time.
I recently figured out that Emily likes to sleep at a slightly reclined angle. When she is slightly propped up, she sleeps for like 5-6 hours (not very time, but at least sometimes). Very nice. When flat on her back, she sometimes makes it 3 hours. Or she just doesn't stay asleep when you put her down. Not so nice. So, I stuck a pillow underneath on end of her bassinet mattress, and she slept great. I think she is a little congested, so being a little more upright helps.
I've also started a new knitting project. Note that I have not actually finished my mom's Christmas present. She comes to visit next week, so I should probably get on that. I should also finish the second baby dress I cut out to make a couple weeks ago. I finished one, and it looks great. Here is a picture:
This is from two Sundays ago. She ended up wearing the same dress last week, only without the sweater, and with a blue long sleeve onesie underneath. This is because she only has the one dress right now, besides her blessing dress. Don't worry, I will make another one. It is blue, with blue roses on it. The material is actually from my wedding reception. I've actually been saving the material to make into a quilt for me and Dan.
On a good note, I've started tackling the laundry like mad. I'm also doing dishes, but not like mad, only sort of like mad. The dishes are probably being done because I a) like my kitchen clean and b) Dan is sick, so I can't try to make him do them. The laundry is mostly because I ran out things to wear. Oh, I had lots of clean maternity clothes, but please. Now most of the maternity clothes are in a box, and my clothes are almost done being washed!
On a related note, Dan said that all the jokes my brothers and sister made before we got married, about him getting a dishwasher and a laundry machine, were wrong.
She's so cute! That's the prettiest little dress and sweater, you never cease to amaze me!!
