You can find the tutorial on Made here. If you go down near the bottom, there is a version of that shirt dress that I really liked.
And I sort of copied it for Emily.
The sleeves in that original dress are made from the ends of the original sleeves, instead of making all new sleeves. I did the same for Emily. I did use my own dress pattern (the one I created for the blush dress, only with a couple more inches added at the bottom for length).
For this dress I finished all the seams so that they wouldn't fray inside:
And added curved patch pockets to the front:
The dress turned out pretty much perfect.
Perfect for reading on the iphone
Eating cookies by the fireplace
Or just sitting with Mommy.
And, of course, riding the pony at Kroger.
I agree with you. Its a Poppins!
ReplyDeleteThose cookies taste good in just about any outfit.
ReplyDeleteSo So So cute. Do I say that every time? I'll have to come up with something new...
ReplyDeleteI love the dress. It amazes me how you can see something and then turn it into something else.
