Tabitha Grace was born last night, April 10, 2011, just before 11:30 PM. She was 19.5 inches long and weighed 9 pounds 7 ounces.
Last Friday I went in for an ultrasound to estimate her weight, and they said she was about 8 pounds 10 ounces. So, she either grew a bunch, or they were off. Either way, I am very glad she came yesterday, instead of on her due date in 3 days, at which point she might have been huge.
We are still at the hospital, and hope to be released tomorrow morning. Tabitha is doing well, besides turning a little blue, which the nurses have told me is normal when babies get cold. And, she's tongue tied like Emily was. But she seems to be nursing alright, and apparently, the doctors here don't see being tongue tied as a problem. So we will need to talk to her pediatrician about getting her tongue clipped. Ah, the joys of frequent doctor visits. I can already see them coming.
I am very happy that I was able to deliver the baby naturally (with the help of an epidural, which I requested once I was fully admitted). Recovery is going much better than after my c-section with Emily, and it's nice not to be on morphine, which made me kind of out of it last time.
Pictures will follow later. Then you will all get to see the cutest baby since Emily. Maybe I'm biased.
I can't wait to see pictures!!!!! Yay for Tabitha Grace! Welcome sweet baby!
ReplyDeleteI bet she came early so Grandpa Homer could hold her. So considerate of her and all that. I bet she's just perfect.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, and I think it's extra awesome you had a VBAC!
