Here she is just before she tries it on, post zipper alternation |

. . . and she still hates it. Life is so hard when your princess dress isn't just how you want it. |
This past Saturday I also finished altering a white summer dress (also for Emily); I added sleeves and a lining for the skirt. I like Emily to wear sleeves, and since she now able to dress herself, convincing her that she needs a shirt under her dress is already a struggle sometimes. Plus her colored t-shirts show through the white dress, even the lined part. The unlinned skirt was really thin, and since I also don't want to try to get her to wear a slip, I added a lining there, too. Now it will be nice and cool in the summer, while still maintaining her dignity. And yes, she may lie on the floor and stick her legs in the air. But at least I tried, right?
And unless you think I don't take pictures of my child at her own birthday party, I did. I got exactly 2, one of which she is not looking at the camera, and the other she looks like she is having tons of fun. She really did have fun. I promise.
You have to post a picture of the front of the dress. It looks GORGEOUS! I am glad she had a nice birthday party.
ReplyDeleteOh, and for Jill, since I know she will not behave like a lady, I buy the stretchy short from Walmart by Garanimals (Garanamals?). I think they're $3.50 a pair. They go to just above her knees, and I put them on over her tights. That works for us!
That spring dress is beautiful.
And you did an amazing job with the skirt. Thank you for helping my mom!
