So apparently I need to add more pictures of my tummy. Here is a picture from a couple months ago, right after I got my pregnancy jeans. It was probably near the beginning of September. My tummy may not look that big, but that is because I have a long torso, so the baby spreads out more and my tummy doesn't stick out as much as some other people. So, atually, by this time, the baby was already pushing up near my belly button. I got the jeans near the beginning of September, because, being from Michigan, I expected it to get a little chilly in the fall. Little did I know that Indiana is completely different from Michigan in the fall. It's been really hot this fall, and Dan tells me this is normal.

Here is one I took today. I'm almost 7 months along now, or about 30 weeks. I'm wearing my very warm sweater, but it is actually going to be warm outside today, so I will need to take it off soon. It is, annoyingly enough, going to be warm for most of this week. I don't want it to be warm. I want it to be cold so I can wear my boots and sweaters. Plus, I dress all warm so I won't freeze in the morning, and then the health clinic is really warm inside. Usually I go to the health clinic for my prenatal appointments, but this morning I went for a WIC appointment. I am now signed up for WIC (Women, Infants, and Children--its a program that pays for milk and cheese and beans and other healthy food). Which means that we won't have to pay as much for groceries, but it does mean that I am now milking the government for more money, on top of my free health care (well, free for me).
Other news, I'm probably anemic. I found out I had low hemoglobin at my last prenatal apointment. When I went in for my WIC appointment, they pricked my finger to check my iron, and I bleed all over. Apparently my blood is thin, and I need to drink more fluids, especially juice, which I need to drink when I take my iron pills so the iron absorbs more. I haven't really been drinking juice, so maybe that is part of why my iron is so low. Also, I need to eat lots of red meat. If this means more steak, I will be very happy. I like steak. Steak is good. Especially with mashed potatoes and green beans, or cheese on top . . . actually steak is usually good anyway you eat it. Except charbroilled, and the sad thing is that I think I might have to eat it really well done. Oh well, at least I get more steak.
So is the anemia just because you're pregnant, or is it like an all the time thing? I like the pictures of your tummy! Thank you for posting those. :) I can't wait to see you in December! The program sounds great. The government programs are there for a reason—to help people like you guys get up off your feet and have help when you need it. :)
ReplyDeleteThe anemia is probably because I'm pregnant. They told me my hemoglobin was low after my 7 month blood test. They didn't say anything about it after my first blood test.
