So, I've got a chest cold or something. Dan is being really sweet and taking care of me. Yesterday he made me go take a nap because he doesn't think I get enough sleep. I think I get more sleep than he does, but he thinks I should get more. I should mention that not only do I have a cold, but I'm sort of losing my voice. So I sound pretty bad.

Besides the whole sick thing, I'm doing really well. I usually have lots of energy. And I'm enjoying the whole baby gift thing. Amy threw me a baby shower a few weeks ago in Indianapolis, and gifts are still trickling in from those who missed it. My mom and mother-in-law are throwing me a shower in Michigan the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so in a few weeks. So more gifts. I hope this whole section doesn't make me sound like a present hungry person. I'm excited because I have so many pretty things for my little girl, when I had only a few things a couple weeks ago. The outfit on the right I got yesterday from someone in my ward. It has little polka dots all over the top, and little pants to go with it. So cute!
My baby girl still only has one dress for Sunday, so far (although maybe the top above could double as a dress for the size smaller). But I'm planning on making some for her. I've been waiting until after my baby showers to see if I got any Sunday dresses, and then I was going to make some

in the sizes I need. I got a bunch of fabric from Vickie that I can use to make dresses, and I bought a pattern a while ago, when there were patterns on sale, for little baby girl dresses. So I just need to figure out what sizes to make. I have an idea already of what sizes I'll make everything, but I want to see what I get before I start sewing. I bought some cute fabric (shown on the left) that I'm going to make into a 6-12 months dress, because that will last longer than a 3-6 months size dress (theoretically, of course). Plus, its kind of a fall print, so it would be good for next fall. Oh, and its a light corduroy. And Dan really likes corduroy pants. So I had to get it.
I'm sorry you're feeling sick! Isn't it fun to have so many cute things, and it's even more fun when there's a little baby girl to put inside them! :) I am so excited for you.
ReplyDeleteAww I didn't even know Amy threw a baby shower for you! I am so out of the loop. :( I'm glad it was fun, and you got lots of great presents! I like the polka dot and pants outfit a lot, way cute. And I think you'll make a beautiful dress with the corduroy heart fabric. You're so talented.
