Emily Words

Emily says a few words now.   She used to say dada (or adad) and mum (or ummm), and still does a little (although she says dada alot when Dan is around and she is happy).

She says hi every once in awhile, but when I say it back to her she usually just looks at me with her serious, what are you doing mom? face.

Her newest words are:

Tickle.  She doesn't get the "t" sound, and the rest of the word sounds garbled, but she waves her fingers at her tummy  (so it is sort of like iKle).  And when I say it back to her, she does it again.  SOOOO cute.

Boom.  (Dan is the one who hears this.)  As in, fall down go boom, which is something Dan says to her when she falls.  He says she even babbles something first to fill in the "fall down go" part before boom.  How cute is that?

And not a word, but a consistent form of communication--Emily sings when she wants something.  She has three short notes she uses to let me know she wants something.  At least, it was always the same three notes, until we were in the car the other day and she repeated the same note for forever (she had dropped her snack container).  But she did not cry, which is good.
