Dan is the official Easter bunny in our family now. He, all on his own, bought baskets for all of us, totally sneaky-like. Then he had to return stuff, and he mentioned it, and I wanted to know what he was returning.
Dan: "Oh, something."
Me: (very suspicious he bought something he shouldn't have) "WHAT something?"
Dan: "well . . ."
Me: "What did you buy?"
Then he told me his secret plan. Of course, Emily was in the car, so now we all knew about the impending baskets. But he wouldn't let me see any of the basket stuff, and he insisted on filling them and hiding them after I went to bed on Friday. We searched for baskets at our house on Saturday morning. And Emily loved the candy, and quickly learned to identify the baskets and tried to get to them (and we discovered her increased ability to get to things). And we learned that she needed to eat more than just lots of candy, because she gets crabby and won't sleep right.
On Sunday we went to Dan's brother Peter's house (who has a little girl, Annibelle, who is only 3 months older than Emily). We had dinner, and then the girls looked for eggs outside, and then they got baskets with lots of stuff inside them. It was lots of fun. Emily didn't want to look for more eggs once she figured out they had candy inside--she wanted to eat the candy. So Dan and I helped her get eggs. Emily's Uncle Earl (Dan's cousin) also came to the party, and Emily loves him SOOO much. So she had a great Easter weekend.
Awww Dan is so sweet!!
