We are moving . . . again

In less than a week, we're moving to Michigan.

I'm really excited about being close to all my family (except my sister, who I would be super excited about being close to, but she insists on living in Chicago, and soon New York).

I'm not so excited about moving again.  In the just over 3 years since we've gotten married, we have lived in three different places (4 if you count 3 weeks at my in-laws).  Now we are moving back in with my in-laws, but for a long term stay.  So we can get our debt under control, and hopefully get a house soon.  Sooner than if we didn't move in with them, which would probably be close to never.

It seems like every time I move, I've just made friends.  This time, its a really good friend, who has been watching Emily for us so we can save on daycare.  And in the process I've gotten to talk with her a lot, and found out we have a ton in common.  I have other friends at church, too, like the women who took me in and watched out for me while my mom is a state away.  And now I am moving.  Back to Michigan, where I have other friends, and it will be great to see them, too.   But mostly, I will have to start all over, at a new job, in a new ward.

At least there is Facebook, so I can keep in touch with people.  The ones who use it, at least.

  1. Rachel, I had fun in nursery with Emily yesterday. She is such a good girl! I wanted to tell you goodbye in person. I only found out you were moving at the very end of church.

Good luck with the move and please keep in touch!
I feel for you on the moving! We have to pack up again in six months to move back to Utah. :)
Hang in there and ENJOY being so close to your family!

    Love, Zara

  2. That's how I always feel about moving, too! The timing always seems rotten as far as friendship making goes.

You'll make lots of new friends though, because you are so sweet and beautiful.

  3. I feel your pain! All of the Boling siblings have moved a lot during our short marriages! I think we are all finally where we are going to be for a while though (well maybe not you guys and Pete/Mindee, in the exact house exactly, but in the same general area). Where in NY is Jeannie moving? Will she be anywhere near Pete and Mindee? That will sure make a trip out there to visit pretty convenient!

  4. She is moving to New York City, so she won't be super close to them, since Peter commutes pretty far each day. But probably close enough to visit.
