The Auto Show had lots of fun things to do.
Like sit in pretty cars, like the BMW Z4 (the trunk was up)
or the Porsche Roadster.
The Porsche Speedster is fun to look at, but was locked. Maybe the $200,000 price tag was the reason?
I also sat in a Cadillac Escalade, but I don't think I'll ever get one of these monsters.
I DID really like the Buick Enclave. Someday maybe I'll have one for a mommy car. (I didn't get a picture, but it was a crossover, with a really nice inside).
Dan really liked the Buick LaCrosse. It was the only car he sat in of his own volition. Phil really liked the Chevy Volt, the electric/gas car that Chevy released recently, which is also car of the year. Phil has been working in the car industry for over 20 years, and he told me on the way home that his whole career, they have been talking about the electric car as if it was only a few years away. So it was great for him to see that come to light.
We were all also impressed by the Tesla sportscar, which we saw right after we walked in. It is completely electric, but has a powerful engine. And it looks nice.
And we got a kick out of the cryptic slogan from Lexus:
Also, I have to include the Mini world premier of their concept car for my sis.
Cool!
ReplyDeleteThe "darker" side of green? Hmm . . . :)
I am glad you were able to go! Did Mom stay home with Emily?
Mom and Dad were given a Buick Escalade for one trip that they drove out to Utah (Dad traded his company car for the week). It was REALLY comfortable. It was quite large though and noticeable.
Although electric cars have not really arrived yet. What I have heard suggests that these new Lithium batteries may actually work. I do hope that the technology succeeds as I think it would/will be great to have another energy source for private transportation.
