We threw a party for Emily's first birthday. Emily loves being around people, so we invited lots of family and some friends. At some point I started questioning why I had invited so many people (our house is not THAT big)--but Emily absolutely loved it. She had been starting to walk, and really took off walking at the party, either because there were now chairs around the edges of the room to walk to, or lots of people to see, or both. She went from only taking a few steps at a time to walking all over, totally independent.
The party ran from 5 to 7 (officially) and we had cupcakes in the middle. Emily was born at 6:10, so she was (trying to) blow out candle right about the time she was born. I let her eat her cupcake for awhile (she never finished it) and then we opened presents.
We also got a picture of all of us together:
Yay! It was a very fun party. And I didn't know the candle blowing happened around the same time she was born! That is really cool. That could be a really fun tradition. :)
