The sled is truely awesome. Not just because Emily fits in it (it is ages 0-2). Oh no, it is also awesome, because Emily LIKES to be in it. She likes it when I pull her around the house in it. She likes to just sit in it and play with her toys, or climb into it and stand backwards. She really likes her sled.
This was all before we even went outside in it.
Yesterday, we finally got a bunch of snow, so we could use the sled outside. It snowed for most of the day, and I kept telling her we would go outside, and then around evening we went. Dan and I bundled her all up, and I got dressed in my coat and things too, and we went outside. We were outside for less than five minutes--long enough to go around the house, go in a loop in the backyard, and go down the hill in front of our house a couple times. The snow was light, so it got all over the sides of the snow. And Emily just let her hands hang down at her sides, so the snow got all over her knitted mittens.
When the snow started sticking to her face, I decided we should go in. Emily didn't cry at all the whole time we were outside. She didn't say anything--she was very serious, probably trying to figure out what was going on.
Today we went outside again. She smiled and laughed at me, and she started eating the snow off her mitten. We were outside longer, but when her mitten got wet from all the eating, we went inside.
How sweet is that!!! She is so cute! I am suprised she liked the snow so much. Sometimes at that age they are leary of cold and wet. What an adventurous girl!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome. (Also, I cannot believe how many of your blog posts I am behind on!!) I am glad she liked her sled and that you were able to do a fun winter activity. It is so good to have something that your baby loves.
