Organizing My Life

Here are my planned craft projects for the next 6 months of my life (or longer, if I'm being overly optimistic with my planning).

  • Paint porch chairs to match new porch table (May)
  • Paint old-fashioned school desk, fix the top (May)
  • Fix chair(s) (May)
  • Re-organize bedroom, including moving closet system and almost all the bedroom furniture (May/June)
  • Paint dresser in Emily's room, get new drawer pulls (June)
  • Sew grocery bag holder (June)
  • Knit shawl (June/July)
  • Finish rag rug for Emily's room (Summer)
  • Make slipcover for wing chair (July)
  • Make matching crib sheets, quilt, and pillowcases for Emily's toddler bed (August)
  • Finish quilt for Dan and I (September/October)
  • Knit bag from recycled grocery bags (October)
  • Refashion nightstand into play kitchen (November/December)
  • Make play food, play oven mitts (November/December)
  • Sew quilt for Jeanie ???
The May projects will be next weekend, or during this coming week, since May is almost over.  Hopefully Jeanie, who is coming to visit next weekend, will want to help with the painting.

Also, I have not actually planned when to finish the quilt for Jeanie.  I started it before Dan and I got married.  So I don't feel to bad about putting it at the bottom of the list.  At least it made the list.  It is a really cute idea, but I am not sure if the pieces are going to match up, and I may have to hand sew the whole thing, which is intimidating.  But, I might take a quilting class through church, which might give me the gumption to quilt a whole quilt by hand, even if it is small.

  1. Yeah, quilting by hand is a whole different beast. But if I can do it (sort of) then you can do it (well). :)

  3. Quilts are definitely intimidating. You should update on how you're doing with your list.
