Sneaky Emily

I'm on the computer downstairs, reading, checking blogs, and Emily is playing.  I can hear her breathing, and turn around to check on her.  Can't see her, and instant Mom run-and-find-baby mode kicks in.  (Which has been active recently since Emily likes to wander around in the backyard while I'm gardening).

Then I realize she is being quiet, lying on a turquoise pillow, in her turquoise pj's with monkeys all over them.  Not really the same color, but I guess close enough when you're turning around.

Sneaky Emily.  Or, perhaps over-anxious Mom.  The house is baby-proof'd.  Except Emily keeps on finding new things to get into, especially since she discovered standing on her tip-toes.  And reaching as far as she can, and grabbing things she can't really see.  And the baby gate to the stairs usually isn't up, and she likes to climb them.  She doesn't try to go down without help, but still.  So, I guess not over-anxious Mom, and still possibly sneaky Emily.

  1. It always seems as if their growth is one step ahead of my babyproofing. Just when you think you have it covered, their arms are that much longer, then their legs on tiptoes give them that much more height... and on it goes. Sneaky, sneaky Emily!!

  2. You forgot the "sweet" part that goes together with "sneaky, Emily".

Thanks for your blog. I stumbled onto it while trying to find mine. Amy and Vickie tried to educate me about blogs, but so far I have an "F" for the course. I don't know how to find mine, and I don't know how I found yours. If I can find my way back, I want to read more of yours. grandpa H.
