Introducing Roses and Peonies

A while ago there was a change on this blog.  Perhaps you noticed?  I stopped posting about crafts, because my sister and I were planning to start a new blog, one where we focused on crafts and food.  I've gotten lots of positive feedback from my crafts over the years, and those posts will now continue over at Roses and Peonies, my new blog.  If you loved reading about my crafting adventures, click on over to my new blog.  You can subscribe to get the new blog's posts emailed to you, or you could add it to your online reading list.  I'd love to have you join me and Jeanie at our new blogging home.  My first post is all about some cute rainbow pom-poms I made for Emily.

I also just started my etsy shop, also called Roses and Peonies.  I've listed a few things for sale already, and I plan to list more in the near future.  I'm working on a few things right now, and I just need to finish them up and list them.  If you visit my blog, their is a link to the shop up at the top of the page.

Why the new blog?

You may be wondering why I started up a new blog.  There were a couple reasons.  First, I wanted a blog to promote my etsy shop.  But if I was promoting my shop, then people who bought from my shop would be able to figure out where we lived (from my return address), and I didn't want to share too much information with these strangers.  I share lots of information on my personal blog, including lots of pictures of my kids, and cute stories about them, and details about our lives.  And I didn't want that level of information available to random strangers.  So, there will be some pictures of the kids on the new blog, but we are going to try not to share their names, and the focus will be on crafts, not all about the family.

Also, I wanted a blog I could use if I ever entered an online competition.  Some of you might remember me mentioning Project Run and Play.  It is a take on the popular show, Project Runway, and it is an online competition creating children's clothes.  They have auditions every six months or so, and I've considered entering.  But again, I wanted a more professional blog as my front to enter competitions.  You know, if I ever don't have an infant and I'm not pregnant (which I am NOT, thanks for wondering).

So, check out my shop, come on over to my new blog, we'd love to have you!
